First Grade Going Virtual- November 30-December 4

Attention: Woodstock Elementary School First Grade Parents

All First Grade Students will remain at home the week after Thanksgiving Holiday and participate in Remote Learning, November 30-December 4, 2020. This change is due to staffing absences and a shortage of substitutes for First Grade teachers. Students are expected to be able to return to school on Monday, December 7, 2020. This change is for First Grade Students only.

Student Chromebooks may be picked up from school on Monday between the hours of 8:30 - 3:30. Student lessons and assignments for each day of the Remote Learning Week will be posted in Schoology. Students have already been logging into their computer and going to Schoology to complete work in their classrooms, so they should be able to show you how this works. You may email your child’s teacher with any questions or assistance.

Student LogIn Information is located on the bottom of each student’s computer. Parents will need to assist connecting to your home’s wireless internet connection. Once logged in, they will go to Schoology to find their assignments. The school office will also be available to answer any questions or provide assistance. Please call 205-938-2028 for help. Work packets will be available for any students without internet access. These work packets may also be picked up Monday, November 30 between 8:30 - 3:30

Students with individualized needs will be contacted by their resource teacher to provide service and support during the Remote Learning week. Mrs. Pate will also address any OT or PT services missed during this time and reschedule as needed.

First Grade students that typically attend our After School Program will have their monthly payment adjusted to compensate for the missed week of Nov. 30 - Dec, 4, 2020. Students participating in Baton Lessons may attend their weekly lesson for parents that bring them on their scheduled day. If they are unable to attend, then your balance will be adjusted for the missed lesson.

Lastly, Free Lunch & Breakfast will be available for parents to pick up Monday - Friday between 11:30 - 12:00. Lunches will be perishable so they will need to be eaten as soon as you return home. Some breakfast items may need to be refrigerated. Parents may drive up to the front awning of the school for a drive-thru pick up. Please remind staff handing out lunches if your child has any food allergies.
